Hello!
I am a third year student of animation, and what I learned most of the major industries using Autodesk Maya. This is probably the most popular animation, modeling, etc. I know that Sony used Maya (as in Horton Hears a Who saw), continue to Pixar, DreamWorks, and the list. Hope this helps! :)
